Beneatha is a woman who refuses to be a spineless provincial wife who just cooks and cleans while her husband goes off to work. Her shoot for in life is to go to medical school and be a set, but it is highly unwelcome in her family, with Asagi, and real much with Walter. It seems to everyone else in the play that she only wants to be a doctor, but she re whollyy knows that she needs to be a doctor in order to make her life have pattern and be worth something. Of course, everyone in her family recovers that she is out of her mind when she tells them all that she wants to be a doctor; they think that she has forgotten who she genuinely is, but she knows good and well that she is Beneatha Younger, and she deserves the chance to become a doctor and be successful.
Beneatha has to push against everyone in her family to become a doctor, and that just isnt fair. The amount of spineless women in the away is just too much for her to handle. Her name is very adequate for her attitude and the way that she approaches everyone and everything in life. Beneatha is dangerously close to be the words beneath her, and I think that when she wants to be supra everyone in the play, she is, and every single thing is beneath her.
Walters anger and displeasurement finally comes out in Act I, mental picture 1 when he says: Who in the hell told you you had to be a doctor? If you so crazy bout messing round with sick people â€" hence go be a nurse like otherwise women â€" or just get married and be quiet. He showed that he didnt care about Beneathas feelings at all when he said that, and I think that is the brain when she really started to take action on what she believed in because she matte up challenged, and that really motivated and drove her to become the woman that she has unendingly wanted to be; a successful doctor.
